John MacRae nominated as the NDP candidate for Lanark–Frontenac–Kingston

KINGSTON — New Democrats in Lanark–Frontenac–Kingston came together to nominate John MacRae to carry the NDP banner in the upcoming provincial election.

“For seven years, rural communities have faced shuttered emergency rooms, crumbling schools, and out-of-control housing costs,” said MacRae. “People in Lanark–Frontenac–Kingston deserve better than to be taken for granted – it’s time we had a government that’s on our side.”

With deep roots in Lanark County, MacRae knows the importance of investing in rural health care and creating sustainable jobs in farming and agriculture.

“John will be a strong voice for Lanark-Frontenac-Kingston, and for rural communities across our province,” said Marit Stiles, Leader of the Ontario NDP. “Together we can build a better Ontario where there is opportunity for everyone.”

Quick Facts:

  • With a connection to a farm with more than 100 years of family history, John knows that farmers and agricultural workers deserve a voice at Queen’s Park
  • Currently employed as a federal public servant in Ottawa, John has first-hand experience working with the underfunded services that children and those with special needs depend on
